There was a MIUI 13.5 version that was anticipated by everyone between MIUI 13 and MIUI 14, however Xiaomi instead released MIUI 13.1 with Android 13. Although there weren't many differences between MIUI 13.1 and MIUI 13, it was a significant release that everyone was looking forward to. The fact that the new update is based on the new Android version is the most significant change.

These devices are running MIUI 13.1

The Xiaomi 12 series now uses MIUI 13.1 with Android 13 as its foundation. The recently released Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2 and Mi Pad 5 Pro 12.4-inch smartphones both ship out of the box with MIUI 13.1 based on Android 12.

It appears that the MIUI 13.1 version will be installed on all new devices. It's also anticipated that devices running the Android 13-based MIUI 13 version will get MIUI 13.1.

Features of MIUI 13.1

The fact that MIUI 13.1 is built on the most recent version of Android is its most notable feature. While the stable Android 13 update has not yet reached Google devices, the MIUI 13.1-based Android 13 update for the Xiaomi 12 series has begun rolling out in China. On top of Android 12, some devices and beta devices received MIUI 13.1.

We don't have enough information regarding the new update, and since we don't already own a Xiaomi 12, we can't state with certainty what its contents are. The well-liked features of Android 13 appear to have been introduced, though.

Devices Compatible with MIUI 13.1

The MIUI 13.1 version won't likely be available on every device, in our opinion. Only the Xiaomi 11 series and K40 Pro received the MIUI 12.5-based Android 12 update in 2017. But only MIUI 13-based versions of the stable Android 12 upgrade were made available. This indicates that the first batch of MIUI 13.1 devices may only be flagship models. Therefore, there is no need for you to wait impatiently for MIUI 13.1.

On your Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro handsets, MIUI 13.1 may be installed via the MIUI Downloader Android app. You may quickly download updates that are still in beta form thanks to the MIUI Downloader programme.
