Apple is reportedly cutting orders for its M2 Pro and M2 Max series chipsets for its 2022 MacBook Pro notebooks because it misjudged demand. Around 30% fewer orders have been placed.
The report was released by renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that the Cupertino-based company underestimated the demand for its 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models for this year. The analyst went on to say that the company has instructed its suppliers to reduce orders by up to 30%. Even before the 2022 MacBook Pros are made available, there has been a considerable decline in production orders. Kuo noted that following the increase, the iPhone manufacturer is witnessing a decline in demand. in demand caused by work from home.
"Apple decreases shipment projections for the new 14" and 16" MacBook Pro by 20 to 30% before mass production, and it's a structural risk to the high end ABF & Mini LED sectors," Kuo wrote in a note to clients. The new processor is the only significant change for the new 14" and 16" MacBook Pros, and the lack of further selling features may also be to blame for the lower-than-expected demand.
Simply said, it seems that recent MacBook demand has been less than anticipated, and this is true across the board, not just for the more expensive MacBook Pro models. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2022 variants are anticipated to be unveiled by the business sometime next month inOctober. Although, the exact release date is still unknown at the moment.
