According to a recent report, a new, more reasonably priced Chromecast with Google TV model is shortly to be released. According to rumours, the new Chromecast with Google TV will function as a standalone streaming device just like the present model, but it will have fewer streaming options and only enable streaming at resolutions up to full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), without support for HDR. Additionally, according to the article, the device might cost as little as EUR 40. (approximately Rs. 3,200).
The information was obtained from the German website WinFuture, which claims that several European dealers have already received the new device. This means that the launch could happen very soon, perhaps even before the Pixel 7 series and Pixel Watch event on October 6.
It will be a full-HD streaming device with a maximum supported resolution of full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and no support for HDR, according to the report. In countries like India, where the majority of televisions still use full-HD or lesser resolutions, such a gadget might find some utility.
Similar to the present Chromecast with Google TV, the device's main selling point will be the superb Google TV user interface on top of Android TV.
The Chromecast with Google TV was only recently made available in India at Rs. 6,399, despite the fact that the product was initially announced and released in a few markets in 2020. With HDR up to Dolby Vision support and Dolby Atmos sound format support, the gadget offers Ultra-HD streaming. Even though it has a lot of features, the device is somewhat pricey and could not be popular with many consumers who still use Full-HD or lower resolution televisions.
With the advantages of the Google TV UI, the new, more affordable Chromecast with Google TV will better accommodate users of smaller, lower-resolution televisions.
