On September 1, the Sony Xperia 5 IV is anticipated to become available. The device is said to have surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking website just one day before its official introduction, giving away some of its major specs. The Sony Xperia 5 IV is listed as having 8GB RAM and Android 12 as its operating system. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC may be used to power the smartphone. It is anticipated that the Sony Xperia 5 IV will replace the Sony Xperia 5 III.

Slahsleaks was the first to notice an apparent listing for the Sony Xperia 5 IV with the model number Sony XQ-CQ62 on Geekbench. According to the listing, the smartphone received 3,304 points for its multi-core test and 1,152 points for its single-core test on Geekbench. The listing's screenshots indicate that the phone would have 6.91GB of memory available. This equals, on paper, 8GB RAM. It could out of the box function on Android 12.

The phone will be powered by an octa-core CPU with the codename "taro," according to the Geekbench listing. Three cores are limited to 2.50GHz and four cores to 1.79GHz, with the main CPU core having a maximum clock speed of 3.0GHz. All of these point to the future Sony Xperia 5 IV's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

On September 1, Sony will reveal a brand-new Xperia gadget, and the launch event will be livestreamed on its official YouTube channel. Sony has not yet officially announced the name of the phone, although Xperia 5 IV is anticipated to make its debut at the event.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV's display is rumoured to be 6.04 inches in size. It is anticipated to offer wireless charging. As with the Xperia 5 III, the Sony Xperia 5 IV might have a triple 12-megapixel camera arrangement on the back. Additionally, NFC and Wi-Fi 6 wireless access are rumoured to be available.
