A new update to Microsoft Teams could make it much simpler to find a specific chat message or thread in the near future.

After clicking on a search message result, the video conferencing service has disclosed a remedy that will enable users to find complete chat conversation threads.

With the update, users can see the whole thread containing the desired message when they search for a chat message in Teams and click on a message result, as opposed to only the first line of text as before.

The company stated that this fix will now give customers "complete context" of the discourse surrounding the message result, reducing any potential misunderstandings or confusion in a post on the official Microsoft 365 roadmap(opens in new tab).

Users might not have to wait too long since the upgrade is still mentioned as being in development and has a general availability date of October 2022.

The solution will be accessible to all Microsoft Teams users on Mac and PC platforms as soon as it is ready.

The information is the most recent update from the business as it works to improve Microsoft Teams' usability and intuitiveness for users throughout the world.

This includes a recent change that should stop unwanted Microsoft Teams chats from outside users. Teams users will now be allowed to accept or reject the invitation when they receive a new one-on-one chat from an outside source. According to Microsoft, this modification should also enable blocking of external users at any time, which disables access to presence and incoming messages.

For Microsoft Teams Mobile users, the platform is also introducing so-called "intelligent translation," which will enable Android and iOS users to translate messages in a foreign language rapidly.

Another real-time translation method has recently been added to Microsoft Teams, allowing users access to a vast network of expert translators who can dial into meetings upon request. Users of Microsoft Teams can choose between the original audio feed and the interpreter's translation via a drop-down menu once a session has started.
