The Charge 5, one of Fitbit's most advanced activity trackers, received a hidden upgrade last month. Although it didn't define what the upgrade should do, the Google-owned company added the ability to locate your phone via the fitness tracker, which left users and potential customers curious about what the wearable device brand is bringing to the table. Notably, the Fitbit Charge 5 was formally released last year.

Fitbit recently disclosed that the update included a few new clockfaces in addition to the much-needed function. The picture above shows a clockface for the Boom in two different colour schemes as well as a second clockface for the Luxe, another Fitbit wearable.

For clarity, Charge 5 buyers will only get the Boom clockface, which comes in two versions, whereas Fitbit Luxe owners would get all three clock faces. Customers of Luxe will be able to locate their phones using the wearable gadget in the same way as Charge 5 users can, in addition to these new personalization options.

How to install the new app?

On your tracker, install the newest Find Phone app.
Tap Find Phone after you have opened it.
After that, even if your phone is set to DnD (Do Not Disturb), it should start to ring loudly. If you can locate the phone, you can tap Cancel to stop the ringing.
The update may already have been downloaded by Charge 5 customers when it first surfaced more than a week ago, despite Fitbit's assertions that it is now available.
