Xiaomi 12S Ultra's sensor is smaller than anticipated, according to the device's teardown.

 

On July 4th, Xiaomi unveiled the 12S series. The "huge" 1 inch IMX 989 sensor on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The enormous circular camera module is one of the design's most striking elements, but a recent teardown by JerryRigEverything revealed it is not a 1′′ sensor. Instead of being in the centre, the primary camera sensor is situated on the left.

JerryRigEverything added that Xiaomi did not unintentionally misrepresent the size of the sensor. The actual size of an image sensor is not what is measured when discussing its size.
