What's new in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.16? Today, WhatsApp is making a themed app icon available to all beta testers using Android 13!
Three new privacy features—past group participants, choosing who can see when you're available on WhatsApp, and screenshot blocking—were revealed by Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook on August 9, 2022. Using a technique called screenshot blocking, users are prevented from taking screenshots of previously seen photos and videos. The functionality was being worked on in the iOS WhatsApp beta, but today there is news regarding the Android app:
As this snapshot demonstrates, WhatsApp is developing a new presentation screen that introduces the new version of view once. As a result of this new version, screenshots of view once images and videos are no longer available. It's always up to you because it's obvious that the recipient might still take a picture with a different phone or camera. Keep in mind that a screenshot taken by the receiver to examine single images or videos is instantly stopped, although the sender is not notified of this.
The Android beta version of WhatsApp is currently working on this functionality, which will be made available in a future app update. As always, when we have more information to share with you, we'll let you know by publishing another article.
