Although the iOS 22.18.0.71 beta update for WhatsApp is listed as compatible, some users may also be able to access the same feature by installing the 22.18.0.70 beta update.

Why don't I have this functionality even though I have the same version?

This feature is now being rolled out by WhatsApp to some beta testers. To ensure that you receive the functionality within the next few weeks, please keep your version of WhatsApp updated.

Earlier news?

What's new in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.3? WhatsApp is about to make it possible to start a community!

We published a changelog for the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.16.0.75 update last month. It was because of this upgrade that we learned a reaction preview feature was in the works. The reaction preview feature is what? A text preview of the most recent response sent or received in a particular chat can be shown if that response served as the conversation's final event.

Following the installation of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.6 update or subsequent releases, the feature has already been made available to some users. Now, WhatsApp is making the feature available to select iOS beta users who install the most recent version via TestFlight!

This screenshot demonstrates how a text preview appears in a chat cell when our chats and groups' most recent activity was a reaction. Unfortunately, even if you have "reaction notifications" deactivated in WhatsApp Settings > Notifications, as we described in the previous article, there is no switch to turn off this preview, and we don't know whether or not it will ever work with that setting.

The feature might be available if you install the most recent beta version from TestFlight, but if the reaction preview doesn't appear, it implies the functionality isn't yet ready for your WhatsApp account and you'll need to wait for a later update.

This functionality is currently being sent out to a small group of beta testers, and as usual, further activations are planned over the next few weeks.
