The team at WhatsApp is implementing some minor adjustments for current features while also working on some key additions for the next updates, such as the ability to edit messages and the upcoming online privacy setting. In fact, we learned that WhatsApp is introducing a shortcut to archive settings by putting a new header in your archive due to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.6 update:
A new heading will appear in your archived chats, as seen in the screenshot below. It states that your archived chats will remain there even if there are fresh incoming messages, however the user can adjust this behaviour by tapping the header. When this occurs, WhatsApp will automatically take you to the archive settings so that you can turn on the archive mode (this is already available since last year). The archive row will be shifted to the bottom of your chat list and the archive header's wording will change if you choose to disable the new archive. You are also aware of how your archive is now configured thanks to the new archive header.
After downloading the most recent beta from the Google Play Store, some beta testers are receiving the new header for the list of your archived chats (although some lucky beta testers may also obtain it by downloading the previous version), and more activations are scheduled over the next few days.
