The WhatsApp beta is listed as a suitable upgrade for Android 2.22.18.4.
Despite installing this update, the bug is still there. Why? Install the 2.22.18.4 update as soon as possible because this bug has been fixed in this build. If the bug is still present, it's likely that you're using an older build.

The WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.24 update adds a feature for status updates, giving some lucky beta testers the option to respond to others' status updates by selecting one of the 8 available emojis, as we detailed last week. Sadly, that upgrade also caused a problem with audio calls; in fact, some users were having a visual problem with audio conversations:
This screenshot shows what the interface looked like when users attempted to make an audio call on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.23 and 2.22.17.24. Some information, such the caller's name and call duration, were also unavailable.
Thankfully, WhatsApp has just made available a beta version of a new update that finally fixes this problem.
Please make sure to upgrade your WhatsApp version through the Play Store if you were encountering this bug so you may now make audio calls without any problems.
