In a future update, WhatsApp plans to add the capability to approve new users.
Despite installing the upgrade, I am missing this feature. Why? You can find some information here so that you are aware of how this feature operates when it is activated even if it is still being developed and not yet ready to be made available to beta testers.

We published information on the capability to control who can join groups by utilising a group approval membership system in the post about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.14.6 upgrade. As this screenshot demonstrates, WhatsApp is planning to add a new group feature called "Approve new members" that would allow group managers to control who can join the group. There will likely be a new area that includes all active requests from people to join the group; group admins can approve or reject incoming requests in this section.
Unfortunately, we don't know when this feature will be launched because it is still in development. When we have more information to share with you, we'll post another article on this page.
