The brand-new Vivo V25 series loves to capture images and movies at night. Additionally, it includes a selfie camera that performs admirably, exactly like earlier V-series devices. We shall examine both models, but let's start with the Pro.

The vivo V25 Pro boasts the superior hardware of the two, with better front and rear cameras as well as a more potent Dimensity 1300 chipset for analysing images. The 1200 chip that powered the V23 Pro has undergone a small update.

This isn't a sequel, more of a related phone in the same line, as the V23 Pro featured a drastically different camera arrangement than the V25 Pro. Let's examine it more closely.

The front of the device has a single 32MP selfie camera with a punch hole that uses a Samsung GD2 sensor (1/2.8", 0.8 m). This phone, unlike most others in its class, includes Eye AF and autofocus on the front-facing camera. This makes sure that even when you move around freely, the focus remains on your eye.

Rewind for a moment to the vivo V23 Pro. It had a 108MP main camera (1.52", 0.7 mm) without OIS, as well as a 50M wide and 8MP ultra wide (105°) dual selfie camera set up inside of a wide notch. The OIS on the new Pro might give it an edge over the V23 Pro camera, which also performed well in low light.

The V25 Pro colorway in Surfing Blue that we received contains UV reactive glass on the back that changes appearance when exposed to sunshine (see below). UV reactive glass was also present in the V23 Pro, although it changed the colour of the entire rear instead of producing the diamond pattern seen here. The alternative, known as Starlight Black, is inert to UV radiation.

After receiving the V25 Pro, we noticed that it is thicker compared to the V23 Pro, which was known for its sleek and light design. The two phones are identical in size and weight, measuring 8.6mm and 7.4mm, respectively.

The larger battery in the new Pro model does contribute to part of the heft. It has a 4,830mAh battery with 66W rapid charging (up from 4,300mAh) (up from 44W). Despite the 530mAh difference in battery size, the faster charger charges to 71% of the battery in 30 minutes as opposed to 63% on the previous model. We found that the 44W charger performed a little better than expected in our tests, and we'll soon find out how the new 66W charger does.

Of course, the vivo V25 Pro faces off against the new V25 as well as the Pro from earlier this year. Slimmer bezels on the V25 Pro give it a distinctly more expensive feel (slightly larger display on a slightly smaller footprint). Additionally, despite the camera inside boasting a better resolution of 50 MP, it really employs a smaller sensor, and that notch doesn't help (still with Eye AF, though). Although it is a smaller 64MP sensor, the main module of the rear camera also includes OIS.
