In compliance with Section 69A of the nation's IT law, India banned Krafton's Battlegrounds Mobile (BGMI) game late last month. In the meantime, Krafton, the company behind the famous Battle Royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), declared on Thursday that it is collaborating closely with Indian authorities to address the ban on the title, which has more than 100 million users.
During the call to discuss the business's quarterly results, Kraft CFO Bae Dong-geun said that the company recognises and understands the Indian government's concern. A few gaming businesses wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting "fair treatment" to assist the growth of the country's gaming industry after the government ordered Google and Apple to remove BGMI from their respective App stores.
In order to give a battle royale experience that is unique to BGMI, Dong-geun continued, "in the second quarter, we raised paid content offers, extended offline cooperation in the local market, and widened the user base.
The Esports Premier League's second season has been delayed due to the ban from last week (ESPL). Rumors have said that the restriction was put in place due of a "China connection." Bae Dong-geun responded to the predicament by saying, "We have been personally operating the service based on strict data security requirements and monitoring. We will work together with the authorities to come up with solutions that will allow BGMI users in India to continue to enjoy it.
