The Wall Street Journal reported that Snap Inc.'s Pixy, a flying selfie drone, will stop being developed. The Pixy is a $230 handheld mini-drone that can capture selfies. It wirelessly transmits video and images to the Snapchat app on your phone for posting.

According to reports, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel informed team members during a Q&A session that the business was stopping future Pixy drone development. Sources claim that the decision is the result of the company's efforts to reprioritize its resources.

It appears more likely that the Pixy won't be supplied once inventory runs out because it is still listed as being available at Pixy.com and as being accessible in the US and France "while supplies last."

The Pixy's entry-level price of $230 includes a USB-C cable, battery, carrying strap, and battery. According to the Pixy website, a $250 bundle comes with two extra batteries, and each battery can support 5-8 flights in the default flight settings.

Recently, Snapchat revealed its $3.99/month premium tier, which does not, however, disable app advertisements. Snapchat+ offers “exclusive, experimental and pre-release features”.
