The Redmi Note 8 received the internal MIUI Beta update for MIUI 13. Since the Redmi Note 8 was expected to receive the MIUI 13 upgrade, this was our assumption. The device's internal MIUI 13 tests, however, were discontinued 16 days ago. The Redmi Note 8 won't get the MIUI 13 update because internal MIUI 13 testing has been suspended. Users of the popular Redmi Note 8 will be disappointed that they cannot get this update.

Internal MIUI 13 Update Tests for the Redmi Note 8 have ended.

In 2019, Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 8 with MIUI 10, which was based on Android 9. Android 10 and Android 11 updates were applied to the Redmi Note 8. The Redmi Note 8 might get MIUI 13 at some point. On November 24, the Redmi Note 8's China Beta programme was terminated, however MIUI Beta updates were still being received internally. Internally upgraded to MIUI 13 on December 20, 2021, along with other devices.

Internal MIUI 13 updates for the Redmi Note 8 were still being applied for 5 months and 26 days. On June 16, 2022, the model received the final internal MIUI 13 upgrade; however, no further internal MIUI 13 updates were given to the device beyond that date. We didn't want to break the bad news to users, but internal MIUI 13 upgrade testing for the Redmi Note 8 has been stopped. This suggests that the MIUI 13 upgrade won't be available for the Redmi Note 8. Additionally, it indicates that MIUI 13 would not be upgraded for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi CC9, Mi CC9 Meitu, Mi 9 SE, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, and Mi 9 models.

The Redmi Note 8's first and most recent internal MIUI 13 builds have version numbers of 21.12.20 and 22.6.16, respectively. We have no method of getting to these buildings. It is only accessible to internal beta testers. The Redmi Note 8 and other well-known models were supposed to get the MIUI 13 upgrade, but they won't.

We still need to be aware of something. It also shows the MIUI 13 upgrade would not be available for the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi CC9, Mi CC9 Meitu, Mi 9 SE, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, and Mi 9 devices in China. The MIUI 13 upgrade won't be available for these smartphones globally. We can state with certainty that handsets that will not receive the MIUI 13 upgrade in Global will not receive it even in China.

What do you think about the Redmi Note 8's internal MIUI 13 testing having been halted? It's a very sad development. Users of these devices, which have sold millions of units, will be displeased that they cannot receive the MIUI 13 update. Remember to follow us for more breaking news like this.
