Apple recently unveiled the Apple M2 chip, the company's second-generation Apple Silicon chip for Mac machines, as well as a few products using the new technology. The business is currently preparing to release improved versions of the M2 chip.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is allegedly developing and testing new MacBook Pro laptops that are powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs, according to a recent report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, which sheds further light on this.
There are two different screen sizes available for the MacBook Pro variants that are being created. While the other has a 16-inch display, one of them has a 14-inch display. The story goes on to say that it's possible that the devices might become official at some point this year.
The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are expected to go on sale starting in the fall of this year, however due to supply chain concerns, mass production may be delayed and the launch may occur a little later than expected.
According to recent reports, the business will continue to use the 5nm process for the new M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, contrary to rumours that said they will be produced using the 3nm process. However, the business plans to switch from the older N5 process used in the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors to the more recent N5P process developed by TSMC.
There is currently little information known regarding the forthcoming Pro variants ofthe MacBook, but it’s likely that there won’t be any major changes in terms of design, and we’ll mostly see internal upgrades for better performance.
