In terms of sales, Realme is the second-largest smartphone brand in India. After making this announcement, the business unveiled the Realme 9i 5G, a new 5G smartphone. This is the Realme 9i's 5G version, which debuted earlier this year. This phone's new "Vintage CD design," which was inspired by the MET Gala 2022, is its key selling point.

PROS prolonged battery life Effective camera performance Decent design CONS Improved rapid charging support is lacking. A macro lens doesn't really change anything. The Realme 9i 5G was released in two variations: the base model, which costs Rs. 14,999 and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and the high-end model, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, costs Rs. 16,999. The item is offered for purchase onFlipkart and the official Realme website. Let's take a detailed look at the Realme 9i 5G to know if it is a good buy.

Realme 9i 5G Features Cosmetic Upgrades Comparing the Realme 9i 5G to other smartphones in its price range, there is unquestionably a cosmetic improvement. It has a Vintage CD design with a reflective rear panel that, depending on the angle at which light hits it, displays colours reminiscent of CDs. Although the colours aren't as vibrant as those reflected by a CD, they nonetheless give the smartphone a generally attractive appearance. My personal favourite smartphone model is now the Metallic Gold model. The absence of a camera module is another notable feature. The three rear lenses are simply positioned on top of the chassis.

Although I like this design decision, there is a drawback in that the rear surface accumulates smudges and fingerprints, which occasionally require thorough cleaning. The Realme 9i 5G's simple branding is another element of design worth highlighting. The Realme 9i 5G weighs only 187 grammes and is only 8.1 mm thick. When held in one hand, it is easy to handle due to the flat edges and rounded corners. It lacks the curves found on the Realme 9i 4G version. The volume rocker and SIM tray are located on the left edge of the device's fascia, and the power button on the right serves as a quick-acting fingerprint sensor. At the bottom, it has the usual arrangement of a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grilles, and a microphone.

Display On Realme 9i 5G Remains At 90Hz

The 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen on the Realme 9i 5G's front, which has an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz, commands attention. Given that the Realme 8i included a 120Hz panel, the manufacturer had the opportunity to increase the refresh rate with this model. In addition, the brightness levels are not excessive, making it challenging to see the screen in direct sunlight. Other than that, the screen quality is acceptable and comparable to that of other accessible smartphones. While the bezels on three of the sides are fairly thin, the chin is noticeably thick. In addition, the screen is protected by Panda Glass. Although it performs reasonably well, it wouldhave been better with a higher refresh rate. While there is nothing exceptional about the performance of the screen, there are no complaints as well.

Realme 9i 5G's Performance Is Up to Par

Regarding performance, the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, which we previously saw in the Redmi Note 11T 5G and other devices, is used by the Realme 9i 5G. The SoC runs at 2.4GHz and is built using a 6nm technology. The Realme smartphone supports up to nine 5G bands thanks to an internal 5G modem. When it comes to multitasking and running power-intensive apps, this mid-range processor performs decently and quickly. I played graphically demanding games on the Realme 9i 5G, such as Asphalt 9, and found that it performed ok, but not great. The Realme smartphone had delays and had choppy games. Given that it is not a gaming smartphone and that ithandle light games with ease. What's more, there is up to 1TB of additional storage space and up to 5GB of virtual RAM support.

Long-Lasting Battery Life for Realme 9i 5G

A 5000 mAh battery powers the Realme 9i 5G and supports 18W rapid charging. I was able to use the device for almost a day without having to charge it. One drawback is that it took the device more than two hours to charge completely. It would have been fantastic if the firm had utilised the same 33W rapid charging support seen in the 4G variant with the 5G variant as well.

Review of the Realme 9i 5G

The Realme 9i 5G has a fashionable design, decent performance, a decent camera, and a long-lasting battery. It is not, however, the top smartphone in its class. While it receives some cosmetic improvements over the 5G version, it does not have fast charging functionality, for example. If you want a 5G smartphone at a time when the nation is transitioning to the 5G era but are on a tight budget, you might choose the Realm 9i 5G. The smartphone has an attractive look, respectable performance, and enough power to handle light gaming and social media use for a price of Rs. 14,999.
