We have an unboxing of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 for you after it arrived at our headquarters. It includes a case for the back glass panel, a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle, a 67W charger, a cable, and an adjustable kickstand.
One of the thinnest foldables available is the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. When folded, it is 11.2mm long and 5.4mm wide. The Xiaomi phone feels extremely small when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4's 6.3mm/15.8mm thickness.
In comparison to the Galaxy Z Fold4, there are many things to say about the Mix Fold 2. The Galaxy Z Fold4's revised, but still excessively long 23:9 cover screen is far worse than the Xiaomi foldable's conventional-feeling outside display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Thatmeans that using the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 when closed feels almost as natural as using any slab phone. The outer screen is also bigger at 6.56-inch compared to the Fold4's 6.2-inch screen.
Unfold the pair and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has another clear screen size advantage. Its inner display stretches 8.02 inches, or 206 cm2 in total area, while the Galaxy Z Fold4's foldable display is 7.6-inch or 183.2 cm2.
Samsung offers a few benefits of its own. The Galaxy Z Fold4 offers much more sophisticated multitasking than the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 since it is simpler to open an app in split screen mode and allows you to run multiple instances of your browsing app. That's in part because the Galaxy uses Android 12L, which is designed for folding phones, while the Xiaomi continues to use Android 12 as-is.
The Galaxy also supports the S Pen and has an IPX8 water resistance certification. The Mix Fold 2 will only be available in China, although the Galaxy Z Fold4 can be pre-ordered globally.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 maintains its excellent specs even without screens. Performance is adequate as a result ofIf you like your displays big, then the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a clear size advantage over the Galaxy Z Fold4. Which makes the fact that the Xiaomi phone is 1 gram lighter and overall thinner than the Samsung foldable even more impressive.
