Since the release of the R and RT series, OnePlus appears to be placing an increasing amount of emphasis on low-cost goods, contrary to what the company's founders had claimed—that they exclusively create flagship phones. We briefly held the OnePlus ACE a couple of weeks ago. Many OnePlus fans were unhappy by the absence of the alert slider and the 'Never Settle' tagline despite the Dimensity 8100 Max chipset and 150W fast charging capability. We'll be reviewing the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition today, a product that might show that the company is only now starting to find its footing.

Design for the OnePlus ACE Racing

The Realme GT Neo 3 served as the inspiration for the OnePlus ACE's design, while the OPPO K10's current Racing Edition serves as a substitute for its exterior (review). In terms of specifications, it is difficult to distinguish between them, but when it comes to look, they are made of the same material and have a very similar rear cover. Although this matte-finished plastic material may be excellent at eliminating fingerprints, we will later test it in a gaming environment to see if it is also good at dissipating heat.

The OnePlus ACE Racing Edition's camera module resembles the OPPO K10's camera module exactly. Although OnePlus placed a decorative camera shape to the lower right corner of the phone, making it appear as though it had four cameras, the device only contains two lenses that are useful for regular shooting and a second, 2-megapixel macro lens.

The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack is the one feature of the Racing Edition that I find to be advantageous. Many gamers, in my opinion, do not want to deal with the excessive latency of wireless headphones, but sadly, Sony is the only flagship phone manufacturer to offer this feature. The Racing model appears fine right now.
