According to reports, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification database has apparently detected the Sony Xperia 5 IV. The dimensions of the rumoured Sony phone are suggested by the US FCC listing. Additionally, the Sony Xperia 5 IV description makes a case for the possibility of a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device may have a little smaller display than the Sony Xperia 5 III, according to the rumour. The Sony phone may also support NFC, according to the US FCC database.

The US FCC database shows a listing for a Sony smartphone. The listing belongs to the Sony Xperia 5 IV, following a GSMArena source. The listing makes several connection features and the handset's dimensions suggestions. It is important to note that Sony has not yet disclosed any intentions to release a replacement for the 2021-released Sony Xperia 5 III.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV's height and breadth could be 155.74mm and 67.1mm, respectively, according to the listing. The listing indicates that the diagonal length is 153.5mm. This may indicate that the phone will most likely have a 6.04-inch display, the report said. This is a tiny bit smaller than the Sony Xperia 5 III's 6.1-inch OLED display. The US FCC database entry suggests that the rumoured phone may also have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

According to the certification page, the Sony Xperia 5 IV may also include Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, NFC capability, and wireless charging. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC was previously predicted to power the device. It might also have the same arrangement of cameras as its forerunner.

Keep in mind that the Sony Xperia 5 III was introduced in April of last year. As was already established, the company's phone has a 6.1-inch HDR OLED CinemaWide display with full-HD+ resolution, a 21:9 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a colour palette that is 100 percent DCI-P3. It has 256GB of internal storage and an 8GB RAM Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC as its power source.

It has three 12-megapixel cameras on the back: a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel secondary lens, and a 12-megapixel primary sensor. Zeiss optics are also included with the camera configuration. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The 4,500mAh battery supports Xperia Adaptive Charging.
