Recently, Google updated Pixel smartphones to Android 13 and it appears that some Pixel phone customers are experiencing issues as a result. Numerous Pixel customers, particularly those who have the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones, have reportedly claimed that the Android 13 update has partially broken the wireless charging functionality of their devices. Some users appear to have discovered a remedy, and they assert that changing settings like Adaptive Charging can resolve the problem.

Many Pixel users have been complaining that the wireless charging feature on their phones stopped working almost right away after the Android 13 upgrade was installed on the phones, according to multiple Reddit threads cited by 9to5Google. The issue appears to have affected a number of Pixel smartphone models, including the most recent flagship Pixel 6 series, although it appears that users of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have been the most severely affected.

Additionally, many allege that no matter which charger they use to power up the phone, the issue still exists. Google reportedly hasn't acknowledged the issue yet, and the problem's root cause is unknown. It appears to be a software-related problem that will be resolved in later versions. Google last week made the Android 13 software upgrade available to Pixel owners.

Owners of Pixel devices have the option of reverting to Android 12 and installing the update after the wireless charging bug has been resolved. But only Pixel phones that have received the upgrade, excluding the Pixel 6 series, can experience this. The Pixel 6 phones include a bootloader upgrade that increases the anti-rollback version, effectively preventing users from rolling back to Android 12 after updating their phones with the most recent OS version.

A few Pixel phone owners on Reddit said that the problem was resolved by changing settings like Adaptive Charging and "forgetting" a Pixel Stand. There is a chance that this solution won't help everyone who is impacted.
