The 1.5K display for the Redmi K50 Ultra was recently introduced in China and was made by Chinese screen manufacturers TCL CSOT and Tianma. Although it is not the first smartphone to have a display with this resolution, it is most likely the one that has been promoted the most recently. A trustworthy tipper predicts that more companies will soon utilise this screen resolution.

The Oppo group will release smartphones with 1.5K flexible displays like the Redmi K50 Ultra, according to a Weibo post by Digital Chat Station. Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme make up the group, for those who are unfamiliar. Consequently, these brands may produce such phones.

According to the leaker, these brands' panels will feature up to 2160Hz PWM dimming for eye protection. In contrast, the Redmi K50 Ultra's display is only capable of 1920Hz PWM dimming.

Sadly, that is the only information DCS has provided to date. To increase the market share of homegrown brands, the Oppo group is likely to purchase display panels from other Chinese businesses including TCL CSOT, Tianma, and Visionox. We anticipate finding out more information about this development.

Talking about the Redmi K50 Ultra, it flaunts a 6.7-inch centered punch-hole OLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, 446 PPI, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM dimming. This screen supports 12-bit color depth, Adaptive HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and DCI-P3 color gamut. It also has an SGS low fatigue certification for hardware-level low blue light mode.
