The Nothing Phone (1) has already been the subject of numerous comparisons, but considering its popularity, we chose to compare it to OPPO's top model in this price category, the OPPO Reno8. Both phones have distinctive features that help them stand out in their price range and are marketed to various types of users. You have come to the right place if you were having trouble choosing which phone among them is the best one for you.
Let's compare the Nothing Phone (1) to the more conventional OPPO Reno8 in the fiercely contested INR 30,000 (under $600) market.

Design
The OPPO Reno8 doesn't have the most attractive smartphone in this market, but it makes up for it with a slim and light frame. It has a 7.7mm frame and weighs only 179 grammes. In fact, if that matters to you, it has a big benefit because it is small enough to use with one hand. The phone has a rather flat overall appearance with a raised camera housing. Shimmer Gold and Shimmer Black are the available colours.
Moving on to the Nothing Phone 1, it is obvious that there are no finer smartphones in this pricing range. You get rich White or Black colour options, a translucent back, and LED lights that the manufacturer refers to as the Glyph interface.
When you pull this phone out of your pocket, people will stare. Therefore, the Nothing Phone 1 receives top scores for providing a distinctive design experience.
The Only Nothing Phone 1 is IP53 rated, which means it has dust and water protection, so take note of that.
Without a question, the design of the Nothing Phone 1 sets it apart from other phones in this price range, but ultimately, your decision would come down to your personal preferences. The Nothing model makes perfect sense if you want something flamboyant and somewhat enormous, but if you prefer something smaller and easier to operate with one hand, the OPPO Reno8 won't let you down.
Display
The display section is another area where the Nothing Phone 1 excels. It has a 6.55-inch, HDR10+-certified display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
The Reno8's display, in contrast, is only decent, without HDR10+ certification and having a 90Hz refresh rate on a smaller 6.4-inch panel. Therefore, choosing a smaller display might have certain disadvantages.
Features & Software
The Reno8 might have a tiny advantage over the Nothing model in terms of performance. It includes the MediaTek Dimensity 1300, a potent mid-range processor with up to 3GHz clock rates. This should provide lag-free performance in conjunction with the 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The best selling aspect of the phone may not, however, be games.
Moving on to the Nothing Phone 1, it has a Snapdragon 778+ processor, which is a less potent chip. It ought to be suitable for routine chores and light to medium gaming. Again, gaming will not be one of its strengths, but if you choose the 12GB RAM with 256GB ROM version, you shouldn't see any significant performance concerns with the phone.
Running on top of Android 12 is the Nothing OS in the Nothing Phone 1. The Reno8 model comes with ColorOS 12.1, which is based on Android 12.
Camera
The camera on the Camera Nothing Phone is quite sophisticated, with two 50MP cameras for both wide-angle and primary photos. Even the primary camera has OIS, thus shooting at night won't be a problem.
The Reno series from OPPO is renowned for its high-end camera functionality and superior imaging capabilities. It has three cameras: a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Its best sensor, the primary camera, will be able to take quality pictures, particularly in daytime. But the Reno8 model's absence of OIS is unquestionably a negative.
The 50MP primary shooter with OIS on the Nothing model appears to be a benefit. But only a direct comparison of actual camera samples from the two models will show which one performs better in terms of taking images in various lighting conditions.
Battery
The Battery Nothing Phone 1 does not even come with a charger; instead, it has an average 33W charging capability. It must be purchased individually as an add-on. The Reno8 variant, on the other hand, offers a connected charging solution that is 80W faster.
There are 4500mAh batteries inside of both phones. Keep in mind that only the Nothing Phone 1 supports 15W wireless charging. Even rarer in this market, it offers 5W reverse wireless charging.
