Oppo released the list of smartphones earlier this month that will receive the stable ColorOS 12 update in July. The Oppo F21 Pro 5G, also known as the Oppo Reno7 Z 5G, has received the stable Android 12 build from the manufacturer on schedule.
Your Oppo F21 Pro 5G must be running at least firmware version A.13/A.14, whilst the Reno7 Z 5G must be running firmware version A.15, in order to receive the update. As usual, the update will be sent via OTA in the form of badges. You can manually check for an OTA update if you haven't yet gotten one by going to [Settings] - [Software Updates] and selecting Detect the ColorOS 12 version and upgrade.
Additionally, Oppo has listed a few considerations before updating the devices:
1. Please make a backup of your phone's vital data before updating to prevent data loss due to compatibility issues or other unanticipated events.
2. The operating system will take a number of steps to optimise your device automatically when you update to the most recent version. It could cause your smartphone to heat up, lag, and quickly drain its battery. After the device has been updated successfully, we advise you to switch off the screen and let it charge overnight. Alternately, if you continue using the gadget, it will return to normal in a few days.
3. Not all third-party software is compatible with Android 12. Therefore, updating these applications may not be possible or may have technical problems, such as lagging and device crashes.
After installing the ColorOS 12 upgrade, users should be on the lookout for a tonne of brand-new tweaks and enhancements. Screen Translate, Canvas AOD, a new wallpaper-based theming system, and Android 12'sPrivacy Dashboard, and privacy indicators are just a few of the innovations included in the upgrade.
