On TENAA, there are images of a potential Huawei P50 Pocket sequel.

On September 6, Huawei will launch the Mate 50 series, with at least four phones anticipated. The Chinese wireless regulator published photos of a foldable phone that appears to be the Huawei P50 Pocket's replacement, raising the possibility of a surprise appearance (which was unveiled in December of last year).

The handset, which for the time being goes by the model number "BAL-AL80," is just Huawei's second clamshell foldable—the company favours the larger horizontal foldable design. Unfortunately, no comprehensive specs are provided with the photos.

The photographs display a triple camera and a two-tone design that appears to be made of glass and leather. The P50 Pocket included a special 32MP camera that sees in the UV spectrum, a 40MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra wide (120°), and more.

The only significant feature is the 4,260mAh battery capacity, which is pretty high for this type of foldable (and 260mAh larger than the P50 Pocket).

The CHA-AL80 appears to be a rather normal mid-range Huawei phone, making it a lot less interesting leak (the side-mounted fingerprint reader gives it away). According to the regulator, it contains a 3,900mAh battery.

Naturally, HarmonyOS is used on both phones because Huawei had to abandon Android. Additionally, both are 4G phones because the manufacturer is unable to find 5G components.

Will the new foldable make an appearance at a Mate-related event, anyhow? That is unclear, and it is also difficult to estimate when the P60 series will be released. Nothing has been revealed about a new clamshell foldable, although there have been some dubious leaks concerning the Mate 50 series and some further information from more dependable sources.
