According to rumours, Redmi is developing its first tablet. Although the name of the gadget has not yet been confirmed, rumours have it being known as the Redmi Pad. The Redmi Pad will use a new MediaTek chipset with the model number MT8781, claims a report by Miuipolska. Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding the SoC's marketing name.
The new chipset that will power the Redmi Pad will reportedly be built using TSMC's 6nm manufacturing technology.
The Helio G99, which drives devices like the Infinix Note 12 Pro and Vivo V25e, will be comparable to it. The future POCO M5 will also use the G99.
Six Cortex-A55 CPU cores running at 2GHz, two Cortex-A76 CPU cores operating at 2.2GHz, and a Mali-G57 MC2 are all included in the new MediaTek SoC. The Helio G99 has the same specifications. According to the report, the new chip would handle LPDDR4x RAM, eMMC 5.1, and UFS 2.2 storage.
A 32-megapixel (or two 16-megapixel) front camera and a camera with a maximum resolution of 108 megapixels are both supported by the MT8781 chip. It will support the H.264, H.265, and VP9 codecs and provide 2K video encoding and decoding at 30 frames per second. The MT8781 chip-powered device's display will be capable of supporting a maximum resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Other capabilities including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, and others will also be available.and LTE. However, it will lack 5G connectivity.
