Recently, Qala unveiled a sneak peek trailer driven by a charming song. At a gathering on Monday in Mumbai, Netflix released a brand-new poster for the upcoming movie about classical musicians from the early 1930s to the late 1940s, which is being directed by Anvitaa Dutt. Following Netflix's horror thriller Bulbbul, Qala is the second project the director and Tripti Dimri have worked on together. In her second film as a filmmaker, Dutt, who spent the majority of her career writing lyrics, directs from an original screenplay.
The ghazal, a musical component, sets the sombre mood for the latest Qala teaser. Random production clips appear while Dimri sings "Phero Na Najariya" by Amit Trivedi and Kausar Munir in the spotlight. The Netflix original movie is marketed as a tragic tale of a daughter who longs for her mother's affection. This theme, which asks listeners to not look at or move away from the singer—in this case, Dimri—instead, resonates strongly with the song. Given that this is set several years before India's independence, there also appears to be a live audience in front of her, including a foreigner of some sort.
The character of the estranged mother is played by Swastika Mukherjee, who deteriorates with time and loses what little connection she had with her daughter. Dutt made a prepared statement in which she stated that mother-daughter ties are sacrosanct and frequently difficult. "I am thrilled to have such amazing actors on board and cannot wait for the public to discover the picture with Tripti, Babil, and Swastika," the director exclaimed. It's important to note that Babil, who will be making his acting debut with Qala, is the late actor Irrfan Khan (The Lunchbox).
Amit Sial, Neer Raao, Avinash Raj Sharma, and Ashish Singh are more notable actors in Qala. With the release of the new movie, Netflix and Clean Slate Filmz are extending their collaboration. Actress Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh jointly control the production firm; earlier today, the former also shared a fresh BTS image for her upcoming sports biopic Chakda 'Xpress.
There is no set date for the release of Qala on Netflix.
