This week, Microsoft launched a new beta version of their Office software for the iPad that supports the handwriting-to-text function Scribble of the Apple Pencil. With this function, you may use the Apple Pencil to add and edit text in Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, or Excel spreadsheets. Handwriting will be instantly transformed to typed text.

The Scribble function may be utilised in Office app version 2.64 by pressing the Scribble Pen button under the Draw tab after the option has been enabled in Settings Apple Pencil. Members of the Office Insider programme can test the feature right now through TestFlight, and in the upcoming weeks, all users will probably be able to download the update from the App Store.

For any iPad that supports the first or second Apple Pencil generation, including any iPad Pro, the third generation iPad Air and newer, the fifth generation iPad mini and newer, and the sixth generation iPad, Scribble was included in iPadOS 14.

In February 2021, the iPad became compatible with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in the unified Office software from Microsoft, which is also available for the iPhone.
