Launch of the Moto S30 Pro: curved display, 68W charging, and more

Motorola has finally released the Moto S30 Pro in China after days of teasing. The Moto Razr 2022 and Moto X30 Pro were unveiled at the same event as the newest higher mid-range smartphone from the Lenovo-owned company. For those who don't know, the event was originally planned for August 2 but was moved to today.



Moto S30 Pro specifications from Motorola

The Motorola Moto S30 has a metal frame with a leather finish or a layer of Corning Gorilla 6 on the back. It weighs about 167 and has a thickness of roughly 7.45mm.


The smartphone sports a 6.55-inch, punch-hole-centered, 10-bit, FHD+, up to 144Hz, and 360Hz touch-sampling display. HDR10+, DCI-P3 colour gamut, DC dimming, and SGS-certified low blue light are all supported. light mode.


The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and VC liquid cooling system. It boots MyUI based on Android 12 and supports Ready For 3.5.


It houses a triple camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP OmniVision OV50A primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide unit with auto-focus for macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

The handset arrives with dual stereo species and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Last but not least, it is backed by a 4,270mAh battery with support for 68W fast wired charging.

 

Motorola Moto S30 Price and Availability

The Motorola Moto S30 Pro will retail at the following price tags in China.

  • 8GB + 128GB – ¥2,199 ($326)
  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥2,699 ($401)
  • 12GB + 512GB – ¥2,899 ($430)

The smartphone will be available for purchase starting tonight at 8 PM. For a limited time, all the variants will be discounted by ¥200. It can be availed in either black (glass) or blue (leather) color options.

The Moto S30 Pro is expected to launch in international markets as Motorola Edge 30 Fusion.
