Just recently, a person spent a fortune on an iPhone that might not even function.

The price of iPhones is a little more than that of Android smartphones. You may have to spend more than Rs. 50,000 if you want to purchase a relatively recent iPhone. Additional equipment, such as the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, costs more than Rs. 100,000.

Even more intriguing is the recent $35,000 or Rs. 28,00,000 purchase of a first-generation iPhone. This is a significant amount of money to spend on a smartphone, especially one that was initially introduced in 2007.

In 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone, which had a $499 beginning price. One of the most expensive iPhone purchases ever was made at an auction when someone purchased the same item for $35,414 from the seller. The original iPhone purchaser essentially received a large sum of money for a device that, in comparison to recent iPhones, resembles a toy phone.

The packaging, not the iPhone, is to blame.

The original iPhone is frequently listed on eBay for prices between $100 and $300. One can readily find the original iPhone for just a few hundred dollars, depending on the physical condition of the device. What makes this one unique, then? Packaging is the issue.

The original iPhone's retail packaging, including the plastic wrap on the outside, was maintained whole by the vendor. Due to the sealed iPhone's limited supply, its high price has been mostly driven by its novelty.

The iPhone with the model number A1203 and 8GB of internal storage was sold at the auction. Additionally, it is claimed to be from the first batch of the 12 icon original iPhone manufacture. Given that the iPhone is already a 15-year-old smartphone, there is no guarantee that it will function because the container is sealed.
