When using a phone, users may occasionally need several accounts or a second place on their phones to prevent apps from accessing their important data. Due to MIUI's inclusion of this functionality, this is possible on Xiaomi devices, and we will now go over how to use it.

enabling second space guide

Simply follow the instructions below to enable it.

On how to enable it, Xiaomi does give a brief demonstration. The video is available below.

Open the settings menu in the control centre. To do this, you can also use the icon on your home screen.

Look for "Special features." Tap on it when you've located it.

Select the second space here. Depending on your MIUI version, it can also be under "Additional settings."

Simply click "Go to second space" here. You'll be taken to the second space after doing this.

Leaving a second space

Your homescreen will have a "switch spaces" symbol that you can tap to exit the second space. Just tap on that, and you'll be taken back to your primary system.

FAQ

Can the apps in the second space access my primary system?

No, as Xiaomi has made sure. The second space function prevents the apps from accessing the primary storage and instead generates a second internal storage space for them locally.

Does this protect me from malware?

Malware is made specifically to tamper with system files. Even though it might save you if you're quick to return to the main system and turn off the second space, it might not actually shield you.
