You can type rather quickly on a smartphone keyboard once you get used to it, but we're always searching for ways to enter text more quickly. You can save valuable seconds when sending your messages by using abbreviations or speaking while typing in order to move on to more pressing issues.
But did you know that you can edit the built-in dictionary on your Android phone? If you're bored of your phone automatically correcting made-up terms or last names that you frequently use, you may add them to your dictionary to make them official.
Go to Languages & input in the Settings menu on your phone. If you have more than one language enabled, select it by tapping the Personal dictionary entry. To add a word, tap the plus sign (+) in the top-right corner.
You can type in any term to add it to your dictionary by doing so here. Your phone will start auto-correcting typos to these words just like it would any other, as anything put here is regarded as a proper word.
It's fantastic because you can give terms shortcuts so you don't have to type them as quickly. Enter a term (such as "MakeUseOf"), then enter a condensed version of the word in the Shortcut box. Your keyboard will automatically suggest the complete word as you type the shortcut, allowing you to input it with a single tap. This is excellent for any long phrases you frequently type. For example, you may shorten your email address to @@.
It should be noted that this might function differently if you use a keyboard for Android other than the default one. To add or remove a word from your dictionary in such apps, you might need to long-press on a word you've typed or been recommended.
