According to reports, Google has begun distributing updates for its Camera apps on Wear OS and Android. Minor upgrades are made to the Google Camera app for Pixel devices, whereas major changes are made to the Wear OS app, which essentially serves as a remote control for Pixel users. Since quite some time, the Wear OS camera software needs to be updated. In the upcoming months, Google is also anticipated to release its brand-new Pixel Watch, which will utilise the most recent Wear OS.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Google Camera app has been upgraded to version 8.6 and may be downloaded from the Google Play Store. In comparison to the previous version (8.1), which was stuck on the outdated Android Wear-era design, the app has undergone a thorough overhaul while keeping in mind the new Material You guidelines and appears new and fresh.

The flip camera and timer settings are now accessible by touching the hamburger icon, which is now housed inside a pill-shaped button at the top of the screen. Now, the slider-style zoom controls are on the right side, while the shutter button is at the bottom. The live previews when using the app remotely appear blurrier than the previous version, according to the complaint, even though the UI is still unstable.

While redesigning the Google Camera app for Wear OS, the search engine giant also released an update for its Android app, which is available on Pixel smartphones. According to a different claim by 9to5Google, there has been a modest change to the user interface, with the extra options under the camera interface's Modes page being bundled into a bubble.

The ability to use the rear camera's Speech enhancement mode when capturing video is a more significant addition. The feature, which was previously exclusive to the front-facing cameras of the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6A smartphones, aimed to reduce background noise (like as wind, traffic, and crowds) while shooting 1080p selfie videos at 30 frames per second.

While it's great to see Google upgrade the Wear OS Camera app, everyone's attention is on the impending Pixel Watch, which the company recently debuted alongside the Pixel 6a smartphone at the recent Google I/O. It is anticipated that when it is released, it will utilise the Wear OS platform and integrate with Fitbit to track physical activity. It will have a stainless-steel body and a circular display with curved glass protection. Additionally, Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Wallet will be supported by the smartwatch. Additionally, it functions as a remote control for compatible smart home appliances.
