The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip series of chipsets for wearable technology was revealed by Qualcomm last month. Soon after the announcement, OPPO posted on Weibo to confirm that the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC will be used in the Watch 3 series. Today, the Chinese company formally announced the date of the launch.
On August 10th, at 7 o'clock (local time), the OPPO Watch 3 series will officially launch in China. The Zhimei Life smart camera will also be unveiled by the company at the same occasion. New renders of the Watch 3 from prominent tipper Evan Blass are displayed below.
The OPPO Watch 3 has a display with a curved edge, as seen in the pictures. The gadget will reportedly boast a 1.91-inch AMOLED display with LTPO technology, according to rumours surrounding it.
The gadget appears to have a metallic chassis with a rotating crown along the right edge. It appears that the leather straps will come in black and brown colours. The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 and the Apollo 4 Plus co-processor will power the gadget.
The OPPO Watch 3's precise battery size is unknown. It will be able to operate for up to 15 days in RTOS mode. It will have a 5-day runtime under WearOS mode. The gadget is anticipated to have capabilities including an ECG, GPS, NFC, e-SIM, heart-rate monitor, SpO2 monitor, and 5ATM water resistance.
According to reports, the Watch 3 series is connected to the model numbers OWW211, OWW212, and OWW213. As a result, it appears that there could be up to three Watch 3 variations.
