Since its release in September 2020, the Apple Watch SE has gained popularity among those searching for an entry-level wristwatch or a cheap Apple Watch. Customers of the Apple Watch SE might be curious about what the future Apple Watch Series 8 has in store for them and what additional features they can anticipate. For more information, keep reading.

Apple Watch Series 8 versus Apple Watch SE

Significantly larger displays: With the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple enlarged the display by trimming the bezels and rounding the corners. The Series 7 display, which has a 20% bigger screen than the Apple Watch SE, will continue to be used in the basic Apple Watch Series 8 model.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will have an always-on Retina display, which was first introduced with the Apple Watch Series 5 and has since been a feature of every Apple Watch flagship model. This feature enables the display to remain dimly lit at all times while still enabling quick access to information like the time and complications.

More robust hardware: The basic Apple Watch Series 8 will have the same robust hardware as the Series 7, including a tougher front glass and more durable aluminium models compared to the Apple Watch SE. This is in addition to a reported "rugged" Apple Watch slated to debut this fall.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will have a blood oxygen sensor, which was first offered with the Series 6 in 2020 and is not available on the Apple Watch SE. Wearers can use the sensor to gauge their blood's oxygen content.

Electrocardiogram (ECG) capabilities: The Apple Watch Series 8 will be able to take an ECG on your wrist. The Apple Watch SE does not have access to this premium health and wellness feature, which has been a part of Apple Watch Series models from the Series 4 model.

Built-in temperature sensor: The Apple Watch Series 8 will feature a new health sensor that can assess body temperature. According to rumours, the new sensor won't initially provide wearers a direct readout of their body temperature; instead, it may just suggest they seek medical assistance if they think they could have a fever.

Fast charging: The Apple Watch SE does not enable fast charging, but buyers can expect up to 30% faster charging on the Series 8 coupled with an all-day battery life of 18 hours.

Better optical heart sensor: The Apple Watch SE has a second-generation optical heart sensor as opposed to the Series 7's third-generation model, and we anticipate the Series 8's fourth-generation model. Heart sensor advancements should result in more precise and dependable results.

Performance improvement: The dual-core S8 SiP (system in a package) in the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to function faster than the dual-core S5 chip in the Apple Watch SE. As a result, users can anticipate speedier performance and smoother animations.

Even though there haven't been many reports about the new SE model's specifications, we are anticipating an updated Apple Watch SE to be released with the Series 8 if current owners of Apple Watch SE don't find the Series 8 to be an appealing option.
