China has announced the 5X optical zoom Mijia smartglass!

 

The Mijia smart glass, a new product from Xiaomi, is now available. According to Xiaomi, they would combine intelligent imaging and augmented reality technology to enable everyone to express their creative zeal. In essence, Xiaomi mixes regular eyeglasses and augmented reality glasses. A camera will be installed on the side of the smart glass.

Although the launch date for this smart glass is unknown, the retail price will be 2699 CNY (about $400 USD) and the price for Chinese crowdfunding will be 2499 CNY. On August 3, crowdfunding will take place in China.

We already have pictures of the new smart glasses. It has a very sleek, futuristic appearance. These pictures show the new Mijia smartglass.

Two distinct cameras are included in the new Mijia smart glass. OIS is luckily present on the telescopic camera but regrettably not on the primary 50 MP sensor. The telephoto camera's aperture is f3.4, while the 50 MP primary camera's aperture is f1.8. Although we are unsure if this product will be sold internationally, it is now $400 USD in China.
