Since they initially became available on the market, flip phones have been fashionable. Many of you probably recall how well-liked the Moto Razr series was in the early 2000s. The majority of phones at the time were flip phones, and flicking one open felt incredibly cool. Flip phones were, in fact, a fashion staple from the start. We are seeing a lot more possibilities on the market as this form factor begins to regain its appeal.

They were able to remain in business despite the development of full-touch gadgets. In reality, the market for flip-form factor smartphones will be highly fascinating in 2022 with the introduction of foldable smartphones.

Flip phones have been popular ever since they first appeared on the market. I'm sure many of you remember how popular the Moto Razr series was in the early 2000s. Flip phones were the most common type of phone at the time, and opening one was really cool. Flip phones were, in fact, immediately considered fashionable. As this form factor starts to gain popularity again, there are a lot more options available.

Nokia 2720 V Flip

We chose to launch with a Nokia handset because it was formerly the market leader in phones. The business unveiled the 4G Nokia 2720 Flip last year, aimed at fans of flip phones who don't want to miss out on the fast 4G network. As a result, it has access to Google apps like Maps and YouTube in addition to popular services like Facebook and Whatsapp.

The phone has a 1.3" external panel for the time, date, and notifications, while the primary content is displayed on a slightly bigger 2.8" QVGA screen. Thanks to its 1500mAh detachable (yep, we said removable) battery, it also has a talk time of 11 hours. Note that the phone can be used as a 4G hotspot for your laptop or tablet due to its 4G connectivity.

For those searching for a nice flip phone on a tight budget, the Nokia 2720 V Flip strikes the appropriate balance between 4G connection and a flip design.

GO Flip V Alcatel

The Alcatel GO Flip V, a low-cost flip phone with LTE connectivity, is another choice for you. The phone has an exterior display that is quite comparable to other low-cost flip phones on the market and an interior colour display that is larger, measuring 2.8 inches. Although the display lacks a touchscreen as was to be expected, you should be able to type brief emails or messages using the keypad.

Similar to the Nokia 2720, the GO Flip V does basic functions like sending and receiving texts and phone calls well. Although the phone has GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, there are few situations in which these modern networking choices would be useful.

The Alcatel GO Flip V, however, can be a fantastic choice for around $150 if you're looking for a basic phone or a supplementary device.

Motorola RAZR 5G

It makes a comeback as a foldable in the Razr 5G. The phone thus keeps the classic flip shape of the past while adding the sophistication of a smartphone from 2022. It has a 6-inch internal display that can be folded into a larger 2.8-inch external screen, turning it into a standard smartphone by 2022.

Despite being over a year old, the phone still has a respectable Qualcomm SM7250 Snapdragon 765G processor and up to 8GB of RAM. It sports a 48MP rear camera and a fingerprint sensor, as well as all the other essential features of a modern smartphone. Its best feature isn't its battery life because its 2800mAh capacity with 15W is very low compared to the capacities of modern smartphones.

Despite this, the phone is frequently discounted well and will be a less expensive option to the Galaxy Z Flip, which we discuss in the following section.

Galaxy Z Flip3

Look no farther than the Galaxy Z Flip3 if you're seeking for a flip phone that combines the best features of both the smartphone and flip phone markets. The phone, which comes in a variety of appealing colours, has a big 6.7-inch internal display and a 1.9-inch external screen, providing an unfolded form factor that is remarkably similar to modern smartphones. There's more, though. Additionally, it has the Snapdragon 888, one of the greatest processors of 2021, up to 8GB of RAM, dual 12MP back cameras, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a respectable 3300mAh battery with 15W, and IPX8 certification.

With the Galaxy Z Flip3, you truly have the best of both worlds, and if you have a budget of at least $1,000,  The phone with this form factor is the only option.

DuraXV Extreme from Kyocera

Although many of you might be unaware, Kyocera is a well-known brand among fans of rugged phones. The firm currently sells a robust flip phone. Because of its durability-focused design, the phone can essentially withstand being dropped, being cleaned with soap, and other abuse. The phone can work between -4 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit and is water, dust, heat, and shock resistant, according to the manufacturer, who also notes that the phone is certified for military spec 810G.

The phone has a 1-inch display on the outside and a 2.6-inch, 320 x 240-pixel display within. Be aware that this model, like other tough gadgets, has 4 specific programmable hardware buttons on its body. Software-wise, it uses a stripped-down version of Android and only has access to essential programmes like messaging and email. The battery life is only about 8 hours, which isn't much but is expected given how small flip phones' batteries are in general.

The phone costs more than the Nokia and Alcatel choices we discussed above because of its tough design. However, the Kyocera DuraXV is your best option if you want a flip phone that can essentially survive anywhere.

Nokia 8110 Banana Phone

The Nokia 8110 features a form factor that is almost as distinctive as the phones in the list above, although not quite being a flip phone. Furthermore, it is more intelligent than most flip phones on our list thanks to the integrated KaiOS and 4G connectivity. Did we mention that it supports programmes like Google Maps, YouTube, Outlook, Gmail, and even Google Search?

Therefore, the Nokia 8110 Banana phone is a worthwhile option to consider if you're seeking for a phone with a distinctive design factor.

So, the top Flip phones for 2022 were these. Please let us know in the comments section below if you believe that we left out any intriguing flip phones from this list.
