According to a post from the account "yeux1122" on the Korean blog Naver, claiming sources, Apple plans to introduce a new low-cost iPad and an updated iPad Pro with the M2 Apple silicon processor and potential MagSafe charging capabilities during an event currently scheduled for October of this year.
The account has previously served as a reliable source of information, accurately disclosing information regarding the fifth-generation iPad Air and as-yet-unconfirmed information about the iPhone 14. The account has also spread rumours about a "iPad mini Pro" and other information that hasn't proven to be true.
In a post today, the account asserts that the low-cost iPad, which is anticipated to undergo a dramatic redesign with flat corners and a larger display, would debut with a new iPad Pro in October, following the announcement of the iPhone 14 next month.
The A14 Bionic chip, 5G, a bigger display, and a USB-C connection are anticipated for the future low-cost iPad.
According to a report published last week by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has already begun production on the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 events scheduled for September. He also stated that he anticipates Apple to hold two events this fall, the latter of which will be centred on the iPad and Mac.
A new iPad Pro featuring the M1 Apple silicon chip and a 12.9-inch mini-LED display was unveiled by Apple in April 2021. The newer, more potent iPad Pro with M2 is anticipated to debut at the same time as iPadOS 16, which is anticipated to debut in October rather than earlier in the fall alongside iOS 16. For iPads other than the M1, iPadOS 16 offers more modest upgrades and functionality, including enhancements to Messages, Safari, and other apps.
Apple provides Stage Manager in iPadOS 16 for iPads with M-series CPUs, allowing users to run numerous apps in windows that can overlap one another and support an external monitor. Previous speculations stated the 2022 iPad Pro would gain from some kind of MagSafe charging features, in addition to the performance of the M2 chip and Stage Manager in iPadOS 16.
