According to a report, the iPhone 14 may also be manufactured in India. Due to geopolitical concerns and the disruption of economic activity caused by COVID limitations in the nation that has been producing Apple devices for a while, Apple intends to use its manufacturing facilities there to supplement the iPhone 14 production in China. In spite of its efforts to expand in India, Apple is apparently concerned about the high standards it upholds for product confidentiality. In late October or early November, the initial shipment of iPhone 14s from India is anticipated to be completed.

Bloomberg reported that Apple is working with suppliers to increase manufacturing in India and is looking for alternatives "as Xi Jinping's administration clashes with the US government and imposes lockdowns across the country that have disrupted economic activity." Bloomberg cited people familiar with the situation. About two months after the product's first availability in China, the iPhone 14 versions are expected to begin production in India. The measure will help to close the manufacturing gap between the two nations, according to the article.

According to reports, Apple is attempting to reduce the customary six to nine-month production delay for new iPhone models. At the same time, it seeks a replacement that will lessen the effects of the COVID-19 lockdowns' disruption of economic activity and the geopolitical tensions between China and the US administration. The first batch of Indian iPhone 14 series devices will probably be completed in late October or early November.

Since China is the source of many iPhone components, it will continue to play a significant role in the production of the iPhone 14 to ensure a successful launch. Apple reportedly wants to first concentrate on bringing its operations in China up to speed before figuring out how to produce its products in India. Some people at Apple and Foxconn had planned to start concurrent manufacturing in India this year, but it was never an official plan, according to one of the people with knowledge of the situation.

An "important milestone" for Apple and India could be the decision to use India instead of China. China's status as a manufacturer to the rest of the world may be in jeopardy due to the nation's proclaimed appeal as an alternative to produce iPhone 14 models. However, establishing manufacturing facilities in India has its own difficulties, including maintaining high standards and product secret.

According to the Bloomberg study, it would be challenging to impose strict restrictions (in a second nation) to protect the confidentiality of new product information. One of the insiders told the publication that it would be difficult to replicate China's strict security measures and facility seclusion in India. Additionally, the report stated that Apple is "particularly concerned about Indian customs officials, who regularly open up packages to verify if imported materials match their declarations, another possible vulnerability for product secrecy."
