Along with the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, also known as the Redmi K50 Ultra, Xiaomi just unveiled the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, the company's flagship foldable smartphone. The phone is a replacement for the Mi MIX Fold, which was introduced last year, as its name suggests.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 smartphone went on sale in China today, and the firm has just stated that it sold out in just five minutes after going on sale. However, it has not provided any sales figures.
Priced at 8,999 yuan ($1,325) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and 9,999 yuan ($1,474) for the variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The most expensive model costs 11,999 yuan, or around $1,769. It has 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.
6.5-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection make up the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2's characteristics. The inner Eco OLED screen of the device measures 8.2 inches when it is unfolded and has a 2.5K screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it has ultra-thin glass and an embedded camera.
The device's internal hardware includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor,coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The power button on the device also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone boasts a triple-camera configuration on the back with Leica branding in the camera section. There are three lenses: an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor. A 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls is located on the front.
The smartphone comes pre-installed with the MIUI 13 custom user interface from the manufacturer on top of the Android 12 operating system. A 4,500mAh battery powers it, and 67W fast charging is supported.
