WhatsApp's 2021 privacy policy, according to the Delhi High Court, puts users in a "take it or leave it" position. Users are coerced into accepting the privacy policy, and Facebook is subsequently given access to their data. The court's decision was made while rejecting WhatsApp and Facebook's appeals of a ruling. The aforementioned order had rejected the social media platform's appeal of an investigation that the Competition Commission of India had ordered (CCI).

The Delhi High Court determined that the 2021 version of WhatsApp's privacy policy is a "take it or leave it" proposition for users. The judge's ruling from April 22, 2021, according to a bench comprising of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad, was well-considered.

The internet giant's petitions were alleged to be without validity and substance, necessitating the court's intervention.

The division bench issued the ruling a day ago, and today it was posted online by the Delhi High Court.

The division bench further stated that under the social messaging platform's 2016 privacy policy, users have a 30-day window after accepting the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to choose not to share their account information with Facebook.
