The GT2 Explorer Master flagship from Realme, equipped with the newest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a custom design created in cooperation with fashion designer Jae-Jung, was unveiled last week. These are our initial thoughts after receiving a review device before the review team begins its testing.

The GT2 Explorer Master differs from other smartphones in only one area: design. The Travel Trunk model that we have in this room has a distinctive appearance that was influenced by old-fashioned luggage transporters. The phone has a flat metal frame, copper-brown accents, and a back made of light grey vegan leather. It is a well-made device, but at 195 grammes, it is kept in check.

A 6.7-inch flat OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a centred punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera is located up front. Capacitive shoulder triggers are also being added by Realme on the side of the device where the power button is located. These buttons, which strangely lack indications, enable you do specific things in games like operating a car. As a result, you might completely overlook the function.

The phone, a black silicone case, a 100W Realme charger, and a USB-C cable are all included in the retail box. Realme UI 3.0, which is built on top of Android 12, handles the software side, but as this is a China-only version, Google services are not included right out of the box. That's all for now; check back on our homepage for a detailed review of the Realme GT2 Explorer Master edition.
