The ZTE brand nubia has released its top-tier smartphones at the start of each year for the previous three generations of flagships, followed by a slight upgrade with a newer chipset a few months later.

This is taking place once more as Red Magic 7S and Red Magic 7S Pro give the Red Magic 7 series ever-so-slightly stronger siblings. Now that the two new phones have received TENAA certification, Nubia decided it was no longer necessary to keep the Pro variant a secret and announced its July 11 launch date.

The listings on TENAA essentially confirm that the only difference is a new chipset. The 4,500 mAh battery, 64MP main camera, and footprint of the Red Magic 7S will not change. Similar to the 6S, the 7S Pro will have a 5,000 mAh battery, a large 6.8" OLED, up to 18 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage.

Images from nubia's Weibo page show a white Red Magic, which hasn't been available since the 6S Pro of last year. The back panel's semi-transparency, along with the fan's LED colour and the elaborate RPM and "Dao" writing, remain the same.
