In Vietnam, Xiaomi has only recently begun producing its smartphones. The business has started producing its products there, and they will eventually be exported to other Southeast Asian markets.

The Chinese tech giant hasreportedly begun producing smartphones in the northern province of Taiyuan from a foundry in Hong Kong, according to a NikkeiAsia report. The mobile devices produced in Vietnam will also be exported to Malaysia and Thailand, among other countries. This action comes as the nation's economy and population are both expanding, which denotes an increase in demand.

In order to gain a foothold in the market, which is anticipated to grow as well, Xiaomi is doing so. It also aims to surpass Samsung Electronics, a rival. In terms of sales market share, the South Korean brand currently holds the top spot in Vietnam. According to local media reports, the Chinese company has entrusted production to DBG Technology, which is based in Hong Kong. A total of about 80 million US dollars were invested in this factory, which has a footprint of about 200,000 square metres.

This facility will be in charge of producing circuit boards and data transmission equipment in addition to smartphones. Xiaomi currently manufactures its smartphones primarily in China and India. The global pandemic of 2020, however, severely disrupted the supply chain, which in turn had an impact on sales. Therefore, the company intends to expand and diversify its supply chain.
