Through their official Weibo account, HUAWEI officially teased the FreeBuds Pro 2 earlier today. The FreeBuds Pro 2 are notable for being the first TWS earbuds to be certified for HWA, or Hi-Res Wireless Audio. On July 27 of this year, it will be released in the Chinese market.
On July 13, more than 30 domestic and international companies, including Sennheiser, Goertek, and Huawei, officially released the "High-Definition Wireless Audio Technology and Equipment Specifications and Test Methods" (also known as the "HWA standard" or "Hi-Res Wireless Audio"), which was jointly developed by the China Electronic Audio Industry Association and China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute.
On the box of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2's Chinese version, there is the HWA certification mark along with the Hi-Res Wireless certification.
According to rumours, each Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 headset weighs 5.9 grammes less than its predecessor. Three microphones and an 11mm unit with a 14 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response range are included in the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2. Additionally, it supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC decoding and Bluetooth 5.2. Three noise reduction settings—normal, comfort, and super—as well as an outdoor awareness setting are included on this headset. Additionally, it provides noise attenuation up to a depth of 47dB.
The Freebuds Pro 2 can recognise outside noises and block them out while you're on a call, much like regular earbuds. Huawei made this improvement using a novel deep learning technology that adapts over time. The collaboration with Devialet should result in fantastic sound quality for the earphones.
Huawei did not disclose the battery's capacity at the time of launch, but it promised a battery life of up to 30 hours when used with the case. According to the manufacturer, a single charge would power the device for 6.5 hours without active noise suppression and 4 hours with it. The earbuds are also IP54 compliant for water and dust protection, whereas their forerunners weren't.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 is available in Silver Frost, Ceramic White, and a brand-new Silver Blue hue, with a suggested retail price of around $200 (or 1400 CNY) worldwide.
On July 27, it will be obtainable in the Chinese market alongside products like the new MateBook X Pro, MatePad Pro 11, Huawei Enjoy 50 Pro, Smart Screen S Pro 86, and Huawei Watch 3 Pro ECG Version.
