The Red Magic 7S and Red Magic 7S Pro, two gaming smartphones from Nubia, will be unveiled at the event. Both smartphones will be the first models from the company to have Qualcomm's cutting-edge Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
Over the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 featured on the previous generation Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro as well as devices like the Xiaomi 12 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro, and Realme GT 2 Pro released earlier this year, this upgraded SoC offers up to 10% higher CPU and GPU performance as well as 30% better power efficiency. The majority of the hardware advancements, according to Qualcomm, were made possible by transitioning from Samsung's 4nm node to TSMC's industry-leading 4nm manufacturing process.
Other than the SoC upgrade, it appears that the Red Magic 7S series' specifications will be the same as those of the Red Magic 7 series, which we saw being introduced to the world in April of this year.
The 6.8-inch flat OLED display on the Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro is anticipated to have a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. With a 720Hz touch sampling rate, the Red Magic 7S Pro model's refresh rate might reach 165Hz. On the other hand, the regular Red Magic 7S is most likely only going to support a refresh rate of 120Hz. Both versions should offer a new peak brightness of up to 700 nits, and they should have better colour accuracy than earlier models. The screen will have Gorilla Glass 5 display protection and an integrated selfie camera from ZTE, the parent company of the device.
A 4500mAh battery cell with 120W rapid cable charging capabilities will be included in the Red Magic 7S. The Pro model is rumoured to have an industry-leading 165W fast wired charging support in addition to a 5000mAh battery. Both cellphones should charge completely in less than 20 minutes. It is important to note that cellphones do not support wireless charging or reverse wired charging.
