Although OnePlus initially only offered high-end products, the Nord brand has helped it achieve great success in the mid range market. It now appears that the business is thinking about separating Nord as a separate brand.
TheMobileIndian claims that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer intends to increase the market share of its mid range products. The Nord CE 2, the Nord CE 2 Lite, and even the most recent addition, the Nord 2T, have already been released by it. And now, a source with direct knowledge of the situation has claimed that OnePlus will spin off its Nord as an independent brand or perhaps even a sub brand as the next step in growing in the mid range segment.
In other words, this would align the business with other Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi with POCO, Vivo with iQOO, and Oppo with Realme. The source went on to say that Nord will be treated as a separate business with its own distinctive branding, stores, and even team. Notably, OnePlus branding will no longer be present on Nord phones; instead, they will say "from OnePlus" or "a OnePlus brand" in some locations.
We can anticipate a branding that uses light blue as its theme colour based on the branding so far. The sources added that the Nord branding would keep a strong offline presence and continue to emphasise offline channels, thanks to new dedicated showrooms, alliances with independent retailers, and other authorised resellers. The Nord brand soon will include TWS earbuds, Bluetooth neckbands, power banks, fitness bands, smartwatches, and much more in addition to smartphones.
