In its home market of China, Xiaomi has announced a new colour option for its Redmi K50 series smartphones. Qingxue, or Snow White, is a new summer colour option with a matte white cover and frosted glass back panel.
While the new colour option for the Redmi K50 lineup has been announced, it will be available for purchase in China on June 18th for a starting price of 2,399 yuan ($356).
On the social media platform Weibo, Redmi Marketing Manager Zhang Yu shared some images of the upcoming colour option for the Redmi K50, stating that the frosted glass back panel does not retain fingerprints.
The new Snow White colour option will be available for three Redmi K50 models: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB, according to reports. It will be available for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models of the K50 Pro.
Everything on the smartphones is the same except for the colour. The Redmi K50 series has a 6.67-inch AMOLED QHD+ display and runs Android 12 with Xiaomi's own custom user interface on top.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor powers the Redmi K50, while the Redmi K50 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. The phones have up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.
