Following Qualcomm's announcement of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, many next-generation flagship phones are expected to feature the new processor. However, a new leak has revealed details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a true successor to the original 8 Gen 1, and one tipter believes that the Xiaomi 13 will be one of the first to use it.
According to reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will have one Makalu generation core, a cluster of two Makalu generation cores, two Matterhorn cores, and three Klein R1 cores. However, according to tipster Abhishek Yadav, two smartphones will be among the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Xiaomi 13 will be one of these flagship phones. Digital Chat Station revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be codenamed SM8550-Kailua configuration.
The new chipset will also feature an Adreno 740 GPU and will be manufactured on TSMC's advanced 4nm process node, according to the Chinese blogger.
